About Christian Miller
Christian is an award-winning nature and wildlife photographer, a photo artist and a filmmaker. His most famous and internationally exposed works are his photographs of Sea Turtles, digitally enhanced so they appear more to be paintings than photographs.
But lets start at the beginning.
Christian was born in Germany in 1977, where his artistic talent soon came to light. His incredibly strong desire to draw and to capture what he visually perceived earned him many school rewards and he won many national and international competitions.
At the age of 21 Christian began to travel the world, with a sketch book, a pencil a backpack and a camera.
His dream was to see and draw the most exotic animals on land and especially those living in the ocean. To do that, he realised he needed to capture their appearance and beauty for visual reference for photo realistic drawing.
Soon Christian became a professional diver (PADI IDC Staff Instructor) and bought his very first underwater camera in 2002.
Living and working in the most diverse and spectacular dive regions of the world, such as the Caribbean, Indonesia and Far North Australia, Christian studied marine animals and their behavioural patterns. With thousands of dives he learnt the ins and outs of underwater photography in different light conditions, and became involved in various marine conservation activities and expeditions.
